Powell Street Promenade
>> 10 October, 2011
A few days ago my dad and I went to the Union Square for an event. While walking, I noticed these unique seats for pedestrians along Powell Street. I didn't quite get a look at it 'cause we were walking fast.
I was curious so I went back yesterday and took pictures of it.

The clean staple wire look fits well with the shops and the cable car that passes here from time to time.
I think it's a solar panel. The press release document doesn't say anything about it. Maybe a future project for the promenade.
The Powell Street Promenade is located at the heart of San Francisco’s commercial downtown along Powell Street for two blocks between Ellis and Geary Streets. A Pavement to Parks project with partnership between the City & County of San Francisco, The Union Square Business Improvement District (BID) and Audi of America. Press release.
