Try it with 3D Glasses

>> 30 September, 2010

Remember my Manila Bulletin launches special 3D format edition entry? I told my co-worker about it and was amazed too so he decided to bring his 3D glasses.

I took out the September 24, 2010 issue of the Manila Bulletin and looked at the images with amazement 'cause it does work! :)

We were getting attention to some of our co-workers so they went to us, tried the shades on but didn't felt the magic I saw. They said there weren't any changes. Full of doubt, giggles, and raised eyebrows. But I still convinced them that there is something "3D" in the pictures.

Alas, they gave up. I bet they have this fixed mindset that when they hear the word '3D', it means the image is inch-close to our faces. That's possible at IMAX theaters not on newspapers.

The technique is to look closely and focus on the image 'til it floats, creates its own shadow, and have it come to life! They can't expect our surroundings to suddenly envelope in pitch black making the image appear before us, alive, and in vibrant colors.

Whew! Good thing I got that rant out XD

By the way, my co-worker might have another set of 3D glasses. I would love to have one no mater how hideous I look in it XD

Ladymade Star by ESTi

>> 29 September, 2010

I was skimming through my cellphone's MP3 list and stopped at Ladymade Star by ESTi. It reminded me of Djmax Technika, the arcade game I haven't played for almost a month.

I missed it so much and just by listening to this song made it worse.

Cutting the emo crap, Ladymade Star is a nice song to listen to especially if you're born with a twin or wanted to have a twin brother or sister. Lols. It's a song made for people who just wanna have fun, follow their dreams, and appreciate everything they have....

Seriously, I don't know what this song means. Can I just say it's such a darn cute song to listen to... Hope that's an acceptable answer XD

Lyrics:

이끌리던 stage의 화려함에 가리네

se-sang-yi man-heun byeol-deul-bo-da (shining my love) jo-ge-uman ga-seum-yi so-li-ga
세상의 많은 별들보다 (shining my love) 조그만 가슴의 소리가

eon-jen-gan neu-ggil-su iss-gie (dreaming my heart) just I pray for you
언젠간 느낄수 있기에 (dreaming my heart) just I pray for you

스쳐 지나가는 날의 또 다른 내게 웃음 짓게

하얀 우주 아래서 반짝이는 나를 찾을 수 있도록

na-man-eul ba-lab-wa-jwe-oyo I wanna be your STAR
나만을 바라봐줘요 I wanna be your STAR

(just keep on your shining love)
(just keep on your dreaming heart)

Between the Loop

>> 28 September, 2010

Whoops! Forgot to give another clue to the project I was making. And like I said, it's still a mystery project and so is the reason to why I'm doing this.

Anyway, the first clue was easy. Look at the picture below. If you don't know what it is then please continue reading...

I actually had a hard time finding this material because the people I asked to doesn't know what I was looking for.

Here's a scenario...

"Huh? a what?," The saleslady gave me a puzzled stare forcing me to explain.

"It's an embroidery loop," I said.

Pausing for a moment, waiting if she was enlightened.

Awkward silence.

I continued.

"You know... it's two pieces of circular wood (draws circle in mid-air) where you lock the aida cloth for cross-stitching in between (two palms facing each other ending with a clap)".

"Ahhhh.. yes, yes" (her face swayed from side to side)

"...sorry but we don't have any of those here."

*moves along*

Manila Bulletin launches special 3D format edition

"10 Palace offices abolished," Manila Bulletin's headline quickly caught my attention. Aquino's move saves P304.62 M from abolishing 10 redundant offices under his administration. I scanned the article to identify the targets... 'til I was distracted by a huge '3D sign'.

It says, "Be a part of history and grab a copy of the Manila Bulletin as we launch this Friday, September 24, 2010, a special edition in 3D format. This is a breakthrough in technology and first of its kind in the Philippine newspaper industry. The 3D edition features choice segments, allowing readers to view the photographs with the aid of 3D glasses. Each special edition of the Manila Bulletin comes with 3D glasses and is available only in selected areas in Metro Manila."

Bloody wicked!

But boo hoo to us who live in the Provinces.

Does this really work? Has anybody tried using the 3D glasses and experienced a new dimension to reading Manila Bulletin's newspaper?

The front page would look really rad in 3D and so as to the other chosen images inside the newspaper. I scanned them for future use (really? :p)

Now I wonder... Does the 3D effect in the newspaper still work now that I scanned it? lols

*sigh* will somebody please lend me their 3D glasses XD

Graphika Manila 2010 - Part 5 of 8 : The self-taught Graphic Designer, Danny Yount

>> 27 September, 2010

Danny Yount is an internationally recognized self-taught graphic designer for his work in feature film and television main titles, as well as a photographer, and a commercial director. He is currently the Creative Director at Prologue Films and recently elected into the Alliance Graphique Internationale.

Some of his works are:

Sherlock Holmes

Six Feet Under

Iron Man 1

Pushing Daisies

The Invasion

Other notable works of his are from the Science Channel, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Colony, Rock N Rolla, The Reaping, The Grid, and The Sopranos.

Danny Yount and his team did an awesome job to all the projects but what totally blew my mind was the Visual Effects he did for Iron Man 2.

Yep, this was the most anticipated topic during his speech at the Graphika Manila 2010. For more information about this juicy visual, I found The Art of VFX's interview to Danny Yount about Iron Man 2.

To those who are inspired by Danny, watch his speech at Semi-Permanent 2008 in Auckland.

Graphika Manila 2010 - Part 4 of 8 : Underground Logic knows their Magic

>> 26 September, 2010

Waahh I came a tad late. Good thing the emcee's were just about to introduce our next speaker... Time to find another seat 'cause mine was taken XD

Underground Logic is one of the leading creative design, visual effects, and editorial houses in the region. The high-quality output they produce connected to their client's project requirements shows pure hard work, teamwork, and professionalism.

Jose Ticsay, the Art Director, told us about magic. Creating the impossible. It's the basis of all their commercials, wowing everybody with each moving frame.

Underground Logic showed us a lot of their well-known commercials. I was in awe 'cause I never would have imagined a Filipino group would create such fascinating visuals. I was definitely one of those persons who doubted and taken these for granted.

With so many amazing commercials from this group, I've given up to pick the best from the rest. So I'll embed this one video that will tell it all!

Hold on to your seats 'cause you're in for a treat... you'll enjoy this :)

Graphika Manila 2010 - Part 3 of 8 : The Universality of Phunk Studio

>> 25 September, 2010

Phunk Studio, composed of Lasalle College of Arts graduates in Singapore, namely: Alvin Tan, Melvin Chee, Jackson Tan and William Chan, is a Singapore-based contemporary art and design collective. Formed on 1994, they were dubbed as The Champion of Singapore's Graphic Scene (Creative Review, UK), Asia's Hottest Agency (Computer Arts, UK) and Iconic Representatives of the New Wave of Young Asian Creators (Get it Louder, China).

Control Chaos (2003)

"...We wanted to explore the “universal” themes imported/exported and celebrated through globalization. It is part of our imaginary universe, populated by its own world of creatures, objects, people, ideologies, buildings, landscapes, cities, and natural forces." [source] - Phunk Studio

Universality I (2007)

Universality II (2007)

Phunk Studio's multicultural country has influenced them to see their passion to traditional Chinese mythology, craft, philosophy and folklore, Hong Kong wuxia, Japanese manga and otaku subculture, Western popular culture, art and design movements.

New World (2008)

Phunk Studio's diversity of influences can be seen on their projects, thus, the universality. The elements they combine are well-blended and sheds a new light to fascinate visitors to the cultures therein without going over-the-top but still keeping that cool vibe.

During Phunk Studio's speech (two of them), the sound system disappointed me big time because I barely heard what they were saying. I don't have any problems with their accents just turning up the volume would do the trick.

They have also shown us some collaborations. Their video presentations, and animations they did for MTV interests me the most because back in the days when MTV Philippines didn't exist, we had MTV Singapore here on our shores.

Based from the picture above, this was one of the animations played on their speech and it caught my attention 'cause I have seen it before. I was like, "COOL!!! So they were the ones who made this :D"

This too XD

Phunk Studio is an interesting group who keeps the universality alive. I wonder what they will come up next.

Okay, time for some lunch... Then for the next speaker..

Graphika Manila 2010 - Part 2 of 8 : Arnold & Cynthia Arre's love for Art

>> 23 September, 2010

The first speakers of the event was husband and wife, Arnold and Cynthia Arre, graduates of U.P. College of Fine Arts. They previously worked in the advertising field but gave it up to make way for their home-based studio.

Cynthia Arre is a freelance graphic designer and an experienced art director. She loves making illustrations. She has created designs for the music industry, magazine layouts, and website layout and coding.

Meanwhile, Arnold Arre is well-known for this graphic novels such as the The Mythology Class (1999), Trip to Tagaytay (2000), After Eden (2002), Ang Mundo ni Andong Agimat (2006) and his current novel called Martial Law Babies.

He does collaborative works both local and foreign where he did the pencils and the inking.

(Left) Arnold did the cover art for Graphic Classics Volume 5 Jack London; (Right) He did the pencil and ink in his collaboration with Lastikman.

Currently, he is working on a film he has written and directed called "Kaye for Komiks".

On with Arnold and Cynthia's speech... They gave an inspirational talk dividing ideas in bite sizes. I already knew what they were talking about but I still had to listen 'cause viewpoints from person to person is different.

They even included some nifty quotes between the lecture.

"Vision is the art of seeing the invisible." - Jonathan Swift

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." - Pablo Picasso

I had fun with their speech making it less formal by making jokes. Everything was well laid out. Their works are remarkable and they are an inspiration to all.

As Arnold & Cynthia Arre left the stage, we await our next speaker...

Graphika Manila 2010 - Part 1 of 8 : The first timer

>> 22 September, 2010

First off, this series of blog entries about my experiences from Graphika Manila 2010 should have been done days ago. I haven't been doing so because I wanted to post all eight parts in one day... Turns out, I couldn't do it so I will have to post them one after the other or I'll get stuck with unwritten thoughts from my head.

The Graphika Manila International Multimedia Design Conference 2010 was held last August 7, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center. This is the fifth year to unify students and professionals to learn, and be inspired from the different fields of the creative minds of the speakers, namely: Tara McPherson, Danny Yount, Phunk Studio, Underground Logic, Cynthia and Arnold Arre, and Rocketsheep Post.

I'm undoubtedly excited to attend Graphika Manila 2010 'cause I've been hearing a lot about it and I have been wanting to meet and see some creative people and just squirm around them XD

It's my first time to attend the event but sadly no one accompanied me. There was some but backed-out with reasonable alibis.

I felt discouraged and had second thoughts if I should still attend the event. Good thing I contemplated it thoroughly. I was like, "This event happens annually... I've been given the knowledge and the chance to be a part of this and all these nonsense is bringing me down?! No more excuses!!! I've been waiting for this! Go for it!!!"

And before you know it, I was all smiles :)

Anyway, I was astonished the moment I entered the conference room. It was brobdingnagian! I didn't prepare myself to everything I saw. I was truly blessed with happiness :)

Oh by the way, forgive me from editing a picture of me in full body. I cut-out a photo of me together with *beep* (no spoilers :p) and placed it on top of another photo. I tried photographing myself but it just doesn't work :p

On with the freebies. Upon entering, we were given a conference kit which includes the conference ID with lace, bag, catalog featuring some the speaker's data and works, conference schedule with Tara McPherson's party ticket written at the back, and old Adobo Magazines.... I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting more like a graphika manika shirt, designer toys, and any popular graphic magazine. Oh well XD

I seated comfortably near the back rows. A few more minutes and the program was about to start.

Dropbox: Synchronize Files Online and to Devices

>> 21 September, 2010

Have you ever wondered if you could synchronize the files from your home laptop, office computer, and mobile phone in one folder without using flash drives nor emailing them to yourself? On the same time, having the ability to share these to your friends; and the ability to backup automatically?

Now you can with Dropbox, a software that syncs your files from your devices via a single folder.

Dropbox gives 2GB of online storage for free, with up to 100GB available to paying customers. It supports Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux as well as mobile phones, such as the iPhone, iPad, Android, and BlackBerry.

Install the software to all the devices you use. Once they're synchronized, each time you add, edit, or delete files inside the dropbox folder, the changes automatically reflects to the connected devices. The good news is, you can work with the files even when you're offline. Moreover, you can restore the previous versions or undelete a file within a 30-day limit or more depending on your account subscription.

Dropbox lets you share files to your friends with or without them having an account. It breaks loose from the hassle way of uploading or emailing these files for the sake of giving others a copy.

I've been using Dropbox for three days and find it handy especially with my work. I drag-and-drop my file into the dropbox folder 'cause I decided to finish it at home. I began fixing things and myself.. When I got home, the moment my laptop connected to the wifi, poof! there's the file. Did some editing. The following day, the file immediately updated on my office computer :)

I haven't used the shared and public folder yet but I bet it would be awesome 'cause if I attended an event with loads of pictures from my digital camera, I would just give the dropbox link and let my friends connect to the folder :)

Give it a shot and try Dropbox.

Pokemon Live Action (2010)

Thanks to Robbie's heads-up, I found a leaked video showing a Pokemon Live Action Movie captured through a cellphone.

Shocking!

Now what's will all the violence? Give depth to the bad guys? I guess we can live with that but the guns?! That's too much!

Come to think of it, some of us were a little blinded by the mild violence shown on the Pokemon series like Team Rocket blasting off, Ash electrocuted a million times, Ash jumping off from cliffs, running down the ravine, clinging on Team Rocket's air balloon, falling down on trees, freezing to death, simultaneous exploding objects, staying up late, and the list goes on. All of it looks great on cartoon but in live action? I'm not keen to that.

Anyway, there aren't any official information about the live action whether it's a hoax or a soon-to-be-on-released-movie but rest assured, my full critic will be up by the time I see this :)

[EDIT] September 21, 2010 - 9:37 PM

Here's the full trailer of the Pokemon Apokelypse: Live Action (2010)

Holy crap! I'm having second opinions about this movie.

A must watch XD

Pokemon Movie 4: Celebi - Voice of the Forest

>> 19 September, 2010

WHOA!!!! I just finished watching the 4th Pokemon movie (Celebi - Voice of the Forest) for the first time and it totally blew me away!

Here's a short introduction without any spoilers... Ash and his friends are on their way to a Johto league gym but happens to get a lift from Maki towards his hometown of Arborville which was said to have tons of unusual and rare Pokemon.

On their way through the forest, they met Yukinari, a boy who was said to have disappeared 40 years ago. He has traveled through Ash's time because he saved a rare Pokemon named Celebi from a hunter.

Anyway, to all the Pokemon fans who haven't seen the 4th Pokemon movie, there's something you must know about it. I bet you'll be amazed!!! :D

What it is? Well, you better watch it now :)

The Project

Yikes! I can't believe the month of September is nearing it's end! A deja vu alright XD

Short intro... Last August 30, I made a short post about a project that I'll be doing without spilling details for whom or what purposes I have in mind. And it continues to be a mystery... Unless you have a hunch :)

I made a slight change of plans but the research, and networking is still active. I just hope everything turns out well and as planned.

Some of you might wonder what it is (or not :p) so I'll be nice and give you a clue. Refer to the picture below.

It says, "Keep the Gate Always Closed"

I sensed something wrong about it.

I contemplated and concluded that it is understandable but can be improved to "Always Keep the Gate Closed" because the always is referring to the gate not to the closed.

What do you think?

I replied to this blog and used the "... sounds gay" making a number of people reply with hatred. I know how to use the word "gay" but they're clueless to what I meant.

It wasn't really my intention to be mean. I explained my actions but they didn't believe me. I was completely misinterpreted!

They were completely offended.

I didn't want to reply to their nasty comments 'cause I already did my part to convince my good intent. Anyway, to everybody who got offended, I'm sorry.

Anti-Littering Law: 10 Things You Should Know

Today is the reimplementation of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Regulation Number 96-009 or the Anti-Littering Law that prohibits the littering, dumping, and throwing of garbage in public places. It also focuses all public and private business establishments' cleanliness of their surroundings.

Violators will be issued an Environmental Violation Receipt (EVR) with equivalent fines ranging from P500.00 to P1000.00 or community service for those who can't afford to pay.

The reimplementation of the law is a small step towards a better future for our country. Some of us might get pissed off but we'll get used to this :)

Anyway, below are the 10 Things You Should Know about the Anti-Littering Law copied from MMDA.gov.ph website.

1. What is the Anti-Littering Law?
The Anti-Littering Law is MMDA Regulation No. 96-009 entitled, "PROHIBITING LITTERING/DUMPING/THROWING OF GARBAGE, RUBBISH OR ANY KIND OF WASTE IN OPEN OR PUBLIC PLACES, AND REQUIRING ALL OWNER'S, LESSEES, OCCUPANTS OF RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS, WHETHER PRIVATE OR PUBLIC TO CLEAN AND MAINTAIN THE CLEANLINESS OF THEIR FRONTAGE AND IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", which was enacted into law by the Metro Manila Council on the 22nd Day of August, 1996. The regulation was amended on May 6, 1999 by MMDA Regulation No. 99-006.

2. When did the Anti-Littering Law take effect?
The law originally took effect on September 15, 1996. The implementation of the law was suspended last August 2002. The law will again be implemented in Metro Manila starting September 16, 2010.

3. What acts are prohibited by the Anti-Littering Law?
The Anti-Littering Law prohibits the following acts:

* Littering, Illegal dumping, Illegal disposal of garbage;
* Urinating, defecating, spitting in a public place;
* Dirty frontage and immediate surroundings for establishment owners;
* Improper and untimely stacking of garbage outside residence or establishment;
* Obstruction (any dilapidated appliance, vehicle, and etc., display of merchandise, illegal structure along sidewalk);
* Dirty public utility vehicles, or no trash can or receptacle;
* Spilling, scattering, littering of wastes by public utility vehicles; and
* Illegal posting or installed signage, billboards, posters, streamers and movie ads., etc.

4. Who has authority to apprehend violators of this law?
The MMDA will have deputized Environmental Enforcers monitoring the major thoroughfares of Metro Manila. These Environmental Enforcers (EE) will initially be in their mint green polo-shirt uniform (with MMDA logo), with identification cards (both employee ID and Deputation ID) clearly visible and displayed. They will be in charge of issuing Environmental Violation Receipts (EVR) to persons caught violating the Anti-Littering Law. The EE's ID shall contain a written Deputation Order, stating the name and deputation number of the EE, his authority to issue EVRs, and until when the order is effective.

5. How much is the fine if you violate this law?
The penalties for violating the provisions of the Anti-Littering law, according to the nature of offenses, are as follows:

Code 01
Littering, Illegal dumping, Illegal disposal of garbage
P500.00 or 8 hours (1 day) of Community Service

Code 02
Urinating, defecating, spitting in a public place
P500.00 or 8 hours (1 day) of Community Service

Code 03
Dirty frontage and immediate surroundings for establishment owners
P1000.00 or 16 hours (2 days) of Community Service

Code 04
Improper and untimely stacking of garbage outside residence or establishment
P500.00 or 8 hours (1 day) of Community Service

Code 05
Obstruction (any dilapidated appliance, vehicle, and etc., display of merchandise, illegal structure along sidewalk)
P1000.00 or 16 hours (2 days) of Community Service

Code 06
Dirty public utility vehicles, or no trash can or receptacle
P500.00 or 8 hours (1 day) of Community Service

Code 07
Spilling, scattering, littering of wastes by public utility vehicles
P500.00 or 8 hours (1 day) of Community Service

Code 08
Illegal posting or installed signage, billboards, posters, streamers and movie ads., etc.
P1000.00 or 16 hours (2 days) of Community Service

6. What is the MMDA's protocol in deploying Environmental Enforcers?
Environmental Enforcers will be deployed in teams. Each team will have a team leader and an assistant team leader, who will both have the exclusive authority to issue EVRs. These two will be assisted by one photographer and one recorder to document each apprehension made by their team leader or assistant team leader.

A spotter shall be deployed by the MMDA for each team to monitor possible violators of the agency's regulations. It is the spotter's duty to bring the violator to the Environmental Enforcer for issuance of ticket. The Environmental Officer should tell the violator of the details of his/her violation, and the proper payment process.

7. What are the procedures for payment of administrative fines?
Upon apprehension, a violator will be given an option to either pay the fine, or to render community service. For payment of fines or rendering of Community Service, the following procedures should be observed:

Option 1 (Payment)

1. Report to MMDA HPSEPO for Order of Payment of the charged Administrative Fine according to the nature of offense committed.
2. Go to the MMDA Treasury Operations Service for the payment of fine
3. Submit the initial receipt to HPSEPO for clearance and documentation

Option 2 (Community Service)

1. Report to MMDA HPSEPO for proper orientation on the Environmental Regulations Schedule and Instruction
2. Render Community Service
3. Go to HPSEPO for clearance and issuance of Certificate of Compliance

8. What if I don't pay the fine nor render Community Service?
If you do not show-up within 3-days after the receipt of the apprehension, you will be given the 1st summon which will only be valid for 15 days. If you still don't settle your violation within 15 days, you will be given the 2nd summon which is also valid for 15 days. If you still don't settle your violation after 15 days, the final summon, which is valid for 1 (one) month, will be given to you.

If you still ignore the final summon, your case will be filed at the Metropolitan Trial Court of the city where you were apprehended. If you do not show up to the scheduled hearings, you will be given a Warrant of Arrest. In addition, your violation will be forwarded to the NBI.

Failure to pay the administrative fine of P500 or render 8 hours Community Services shall be penalized, after conviction, by a fine of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00), or imprisonment of three (3) to seven (7) days, or both, at the discretion of the court.

Failure to pay the administrative fine of P1,000 or render 16 hours of Community Service shall be penalized, after conviction, by a fine of Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00) or imprisonment of seven (7) days to one (1) month, or both, at the discretion of the court.

9. If I have a pending violation of the Anti-littering law, will it be possible for me to obtain an NBI clearance? If not, what is the procedure for getting myself cleared from the violation?
No, you will not be able to get an NBI clearance. To clear your record, you need to go to the MMDA and pay your fine. After paying, go to the HPSEPO and get your "Motion to Withdraw Information" certificate signed by the Senior Prosecutor of the DOJ. After this, bring the "Motion to Withdraw Information" certificate to the concerned Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC). After submitting, the MTC will give you the "Certificate of No Case." Finally, bring your "Certificate of No Case" so that you'll be allowed to obtain an NBI Clearance.

10. What do I do if I want to protest my EVR or file a complaint against an Environmental Enforcer?
If you feel your EVR was issued without any legal basis or in violation of the protocol, you may contest by going to the MMDA-HPSEPO Adjudication Office (7th floor MMDA Main Bldg. EDSA cor. Orense St. Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City) to fill-up the protest form indicating all relevant details regarding your complaint, within 1 week (7 days) after the receipt of the apprehension.

5 Signs Reading Could Be Harming You

>> 14 September, 2010

I have thoroughly read an interesting article about how reading could harm a person's life. It took a moment for me to realize that parts of it defines me as a reader.

I was stunned.

It struck me so bad that it gave me an epiphany :(

I have to repost this.. Anyway, enjoy reading :(

5 Signs Reading could be Harming You
by Bob Lowry

1. Learning not Doing. Do you know someone who is book-smart but has no common sense? Do you know someone who has three advanced degrees, and never had a job? It is too easy to learn just for the sake of knowing, but be unable to do anything with all that stuff in your brain. Learning something for the pure joy of learning is tremendous. But, if all you ever do is learn and never put that knowledge into action, maybe you’re reading too much and acting too little.

2. Information Overload. 90 trillion e-mails were sent last year. There are 250 million web sites to check out. 500,000 books were published in 2009. As a society are we any smarter? As an individual do you ever feel overwhelmed? Like a kid in a candy store, we have unlimited options butting up against limited time. An efficient filtering system is all that stands between complete information overload and us. How do you choose?

3. Afraid to Act. With so much information from so many sources, are you ever afraid to move forward on something? Are you waiting for that one web site, that one book, or that one Tweet that contains the magic bullet of success? Are you fearful of your own intuition without written confirmation? There are more “experts” than problems. If you keep searching for the last thing that you need, you’ll be unable to act at all.

4. Expert Confusion. As noted above we are not short of experts. But, just because someone claims to have the answer you need doesn’t make it so. Following something you read from any source without using your own intelligence and gut can put you in a world of hurt. Reliance on others for all your important decisions can be a downside of too much reading.

5. Life Takes Place Out There. I really love to read. Books, web sites, blogs, newspapers, magazines, anything with printed or displayed words will grab me. But, life doesn’t take place on the Internet. Descriptions of someone else’s life or ideas are in books or on the Web. Your life is not. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that reading about life is the same as living it.

Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, and Georgia are some of the most common website fonts around. You can find these on company pages, portfolios, forums, and even blogs mainly because these were made for our computer screens and are recognizable and supported by our browsers.

But have you ever wondered if you could use other fonts to spruce up your page? Something that defines you. Showing the world your true love for typography without all the limitations.

Now you can with Typekit, a subscription-based service that lets you use real fonts on the web, giving you a wider range of fonts to choose from.

Oh-Wheezers is now part of this service. Click the image below to see the changes I did for my blog.

As you can see, I didn't want to change the font on some parts of my blog but the Tahoma for my blog posts and the Georgia for my entire sidebar doesn't fit the theme which is why I traded both of them for 'Anivers' because of its narrower look.

And voila! It looks neat *pats himself on the back*

Give Typekit a shot. Don't forget to save your current template on your desktop and be ready for some Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) tweaking :)
