Closed gate?
>> 17 September, 2010
While walking home, I noticed this tarpaulin hanged on a gate.
It says, "Keep the Gate Always Closed"
I sensed something wrong about it.
I contemplated and concluded that it is understandable but can be improved to "Always Keep the Gate Closed" because the always is referring to the gate not to the closed.
What do you think?
Correct me if I have mistaken XD
Sorry for being a grammar dork :p

I think that you're right that it is better if it was stated as "Always keep the gate closed." However, I also noticed that in your post, I think it would be better if you said "Correct me if I'm wrong" rather than saying "correct me if i have mistaken." I think the word "mistaken" is misused in this context.
I have the same thoughts as you in the grammar sense :p
@anonymous, thanks for correcting me but I think I used the word appropriately. I used mistaken as an adjective :)

@pikey, hehehe good to know XD
IMHO, what you stated does make sense. I mean, come on, if you want the gate to be always kept closed, how are we or other people supposed to get in? By climbing up the gate? That makes you more or less like a burglar. Just my two cents. :P
@Miki Panda, Come to think of it, your point makes sense XD Hahaha!
I have nothing to say to add to this discussion except to say that all of are right...because no one is mistaken here...lol...
I love you Boris...do you have other blogs? Why not use a self-hosted WordPress blog?
