RPG Metanoia

>> 12 August, 2010

RPG Metanoia is the first 3D full length animation in the Philippines made possible by Ambient Media with partners ABS-CBN and Thaumatrope. It will be on cinemas this December as part of the Metro Film Festival 2010.

Watch the trailer:

Let's join Nico (Zero the Vagabond Traveller), Cel (Sargo the Pool Shark - Vagabond Traveller L-3), Mark (Ahdonis the Folk Hero, Daniel (K'mao the Chi Master), Bryan (Mang Ernie the Spiritist/Monster Hunter), Bobby (Sumpak the Weapon-smith), and May (C4ss4ndr4 the Beast Master) journey to Metanoia as they uhhh... hmmm.... ?

The animation is indeed superb but what I worry about is the story. We all know how Filipino movies turn out to be cheesy with tons of redundant pinoy elements...

So to calm myself, I visited RPG Metanoia's website and read through the main plot of the movie. Turns out, it's an overview. It doesn't tell too much and there wasn't any information about who or what will cause the chaos inside Metanoia.

It's still a big question mark.

But I'll give the team some time to update 'cause RPG Metanoia's website was officially launched two days ago.

In conclusion, I will watch this movie 'cause I don't want to miss one of the Philippines' firsts! :) It's a groundbreaking phenoma made by Filipinos for Filipinos. And take note, this 3D animation took four years in the making! It's an effort I want to see :)

so far i love the depiction of the filipino lifestyle in this movie....especially in the environment and textures, you could really feel its pinoy...and from what ive heard, the origial story was revised to have the pinoy telenovela feel to the movie (well that happened when abs became part of the project, half-way through the production) if that will be a good thing...we just have to find out....and maybe it took them more than 4 years....- fredo

judging from the website and trailer it really is something to look out for :D 4 years is no joke, most movies here are done in less than a year ... kaya tignan mo ang quality. pinagkagastusan to ng todo!

It's nice to see that Filipino talent is being put to good use. FINALLY! The animation is very nice and I can't believe ngayon lang tayo nakagawa nito. Actually, ngayon lang talaga may sumuporta so kudos to Star Cinema!

I do worry about the story though. Hahaha.

Oh and by the way, my dad was there. :D He's part of FILharmonika, the orchestra who plays the score in most Level-Up games. Hihi.

Here's something to think about. The 1st preview we had was in 2008. ABSCBN just signed the contract to partner with AmbientMedia Aug of 2009 (based on a youtube video), it took 4 years to make ...

Aug 2009 - Aug 2010 is just a year. All I'm saying is I think we're going to see something new, it seems like Ambient only needs ABS to market this :D finally a new player! and pretty impressive for a 1st release :D
