Movie Review: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

>> 30 June, 2009

Before I begin the review, I've noticed a confusion rambling the web whether the original title of the second Transformers movie is "Transformers: Rise of the Fallen" or "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". If you surf both of these titles up, you'll get massive results.

I was confused with this too so I referred the Official Transformers Websiteand Wikipedia about this matter. And that's that!

Now let's begin.

Movies overflowing with action and suspense together with superb high-quality graphics and effects are some of the qualities that I look for. But I don't know why I can't seem to love Transformers as much as everybody else. Am I the only oddball around?

I am not a fan of Transformers. I barely watched the prequel and I wasn't expecting anything nor I was excited to watch the movie at all. But even so, the storyline should have been enough to satisfy my knowledge and made me an obsessed Transformers fan, but it didn't.

As the movie plays on, I must say that the graphics are indeed excellent! Good enough to make a shrine to worship on. The actors portraying their roles did pretty well and the funny scenes didn't fail to tickle my funny bone.

But there were scenes where the characters blab too much. Also, they phase too fast leaving us clueless to how it went on to the next couple of scenes.

I even got sick seeing the Autobots and the Decepticons transform to their originals forms. I know it's cool but they don't have to show it from time to time. Plus, there were times when I can't understand a word they were saying. Oh and I felt pity for some Autobots to be added as extras, even that cute little Decepticon who was hitting on Mikaela was gone after they all landed in Egypt.

Also, I hope in the next sequel, the camera focusing on the characters from afar should stay still and doesn't revolve around them 360 degrees! This is also a nice feature but I think they should lessen this.

All in all, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is indeed a great movie especially for the die-hard fans. The story may have been squeezed to reduce the length of the movie, but the thought is still present.

Oh btw, the movie is a bit R+18 so parents have to supervise their kids :p

Rating: 2.5/5

EDIT - July 1, 2009, 9:57 a.m.

Do you want more rants about the movie? Well I had fun reading this - The 10 Most Confusing Things in 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'. Everything in the article is true! Enjoy reading :)

MTV Blog Squad Contest

>> 29 June, 2009

Nuffnang gave us juicy news about the MTV Blog Squad Contest where 4 lucky people will be the "MTV Asia Official Bloggers" for 6 months! Cool huh? :)

I was thrilled when I read this so I decided to join. I logged-on to the contest and have to choose a question to which was categorized into four, namely: VJ and Celebrities, Lifestyle and Fashion, Gadgets and Gaming, and Music and Entertainment.

I've chosen the category Music and Entertainment, and picked this question "Being a successful artist is all about playing the fame game - sex, drugs, money and scandals."

My Comment:

Title: Music is Love

Music has always been a part of us. Wherever we go, no matter who we are, music finds us. It's impossible to escape such rhythm when you know that it satisfies our emotional appetite, thus, reaching into our souls.

And with that blessing, we can't help but thank all the musicians for sharing their deep thoughts and passion to the music world. It's fascinating how they interpret their emotions into songs because when strong feelings are embedded to each word of the lyrics, even if we cannot relate to it, we can assure that it's written from the heart. They enjoy making songs as much as we want to listen to them.

Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack, The Beatles, The Carpenters, Jason Mraz, The Corrs, and John Legend are some of the thousands of musicians who have dedicated their enthusiasm with music. Their songs made us alive, bring joy, opened our minds, and changed how we see the world.

Michael Jackson may have negative issues within but he is well respected. Unlike some amateur and well-know musicians in our century who are only vying to be popular even in the most ridiculous ways you can ever imagine. If these so-called musicians are truly a musician at heart, their songs will reach to the people, and they will come to them wholeheartedly.

The mutualism of the musician and their songs won't exist without the respect of the audience. And with that respect, love, and dedication will music forever be a part of us.

I answered this quite indirectly hehehehe... Well anyway, wish me luck guys :)

My commenting system ticks me off!

For the past two weeks, both my Blogger and JS-kit comments databases are updated and I received emails notifying that someone has commented on a particular blog post.

But now, my Blogger comments database doesn't update anymore but JS-Kit does! I thought Blogger will add them eventually but it has been 3 days and yet the problem persists! I didn't change any settings because everything was doing well.

It's either Blogger doesn't support too much of JS-Kit or JS-Kit is blocking connections with Blogger preventing it to update it's own database.

*sigh* I guess I just have to remove JS-Kit and have to retype a few comments that we're not added to Blogger :(

EDIT - June 29, 2009, 3:19 p.m.
Hahahaha!!! I'll stick with JS-Kit :p

I panicked hastily when I thought of the words "deleted comments" lols Besides, I want one clean comments database but if there are two then so beat it.

I wouldn't want to waste my time finding another commenting system when JS-Kit's design fits my layout perfectly. Also, I think that only JS-Kit, in my knowledge, has the "Import Comments" feature.

:p

The King of Pop: Michael Jackson died

>> 26 June, 2009

So they say Michael Jackson died, to which I didn't give much attention to because I thought it was a joke. Ian even texted me about this but still I didn't believe him. 'Till there was a commotion going wild in our office gossiping about the King of Pop.

I surfed the net to clarify Michael's death, and in a blink of an eye, I was shocked that it was true. It's a harsh reality but Michael Jackson died! :(

News have stated that Michael had a cardiac arrest. The paramedics performed CPR at his home and later took him to the UCLA Medical Center. He died in the hospital but his death is still unknown. It was said that by July, he will be performing 50 shows at a London arena. He may have overpracticed for that event.

I felt pity for him because even though he have negative issues sticking at his back, he still dominated and made music history! You just can't get enough of his awesome live performances and music videos that we could dance ours hearts out. From his moonwalk to his crotch-grabbing dances, and from his Thriller to his Remember the Time.

Indubitably, Michael has influenced dozens of singers and musicians. He earned various awards and making his name known by everyone.

I remember my Dad having an original album of Michael called, "Dangerous". And we still have it :p The album has pretty nice songs and the album art is awesome!

Michael Joseph Jackson
(August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

I now pay respect to the King of Pop. He is a legendary singer. Thank you for contributing to our music world :)

Inventing the Impossible

>> 25 June, 2009

For the past few centuries, we acknowledge and thank the great minds of different people who contributed their ideas in making our lives easier and better. These ideas are formed into inventions that are shared to the world. The creation of cellphones, computers, cars, airplanes, and space shuttles are good examples of these.

At our office when my trainee and I were having our lunch, we talked about how cool it was to invent things and thought how the inventors came up with such ideas when their resources are scarce. As we progress, the topic gets even interesting, he asked me what unique invention do I want to invent.

I said, "The Time Machine."

I raised an eyebrow when his distorted face told me "really?". He then started laughing and mocked me with such nonsense.

To my account, I know it's impossible but the thing is, all the inventions invented before were nonsense to us but when living proof was made, that's when we started to believe. Much more of a "to see is to believe" concept.

Visualize this. But first, I want you to take out all your knowledge about cellphones, process in your mind that they don't exist at all. Now that I have your attention, let's say that I'm an inventor, I told you that I have an idea to invent a machine that could let me talk to you from here when you're seating in another room. Would you believe me? You might have laughed at me or think I'm a crazy guy.

Well that's the point!

Every idea we come up is impossible unless we're determined to finish it. It doesn't matter if we're being mocked, what matters is that you believe in what can be done and what can be achieved.

And once again, I acknowledge and thank all the inventors and people with great minds in our world. Thank you :)

Oh-Wheezers version 2.0

>> 24 June, 2009

YAY!!! After months of dreaming of changing my layout and days agonizing of renovating it, I've finally finished revamping my blog :) Yep! Oh-Wheezers is looking good from top to bottom :)

I was on the highest of high when I've managed to finish installing this template because it wasn't a trip to the park at all! Finding the right one was much more harder than it looks! I did manage to find nice looking ones but it doesn't fit to the attitude of my blog and my personality. There were times when I thought the layout suits me, but it didn't worked-well at all.

I went back-and-forth to the websites that I've been before, making sure I didn't miss a single template. I was actually routing for a 3-column but the graphics included aren't much to my liking.

Well good thing the search was over when I tested this template named 'Portfolio', YAYNESS!!! It's simple but cute XD

Okay so let's move on hehehe...

What I've added:
* My customized profile widget that looks the same on my previous blogs.
* For my commenting system, I'm sticking to JS-Kit comments even though I like to try Disqus. JS-Kit also has a Ratings feature that I've added near the comments link.
* A nifty Related Posts widget embedded in every blog entry. The Recent Comments & Recent Posts in my sidebar are not hard-coded but still wish to make them myself XD
* Aside from my FeedJit map, I've also added two more maps, namely: ClustrMaps and MapLoco (bottom). I've added these three for separate reasons. FeedJit map lets me view recent visitors, know which links they visited and know which ones are popular but the data from the map is not stored, thus, deleting the previous ones. ClustrMap counts all the users, based from their country, viewing my blog. MapLoco shows all the viewers from their respective cities but like the Feedjit map, the data is not stored.

What I've removed:
* I've removed my ugly blogger profile widget.
* My Plurk widget looks messy, it gotta go!
* My Quote for the day widget also looks messy, besides, I can no longer find it anywhere :(

What I've modified:
* My links widget called "Et Cetera" is now called "Part Of"
* Change the button link for my AddThis widget.

I guess that's it. I'm totally happy with my new layout. If you're having problems with my current layout then please reply to this blog entry as soon as possible. Thanks :)

My Sweet Darlin' by Meilin with Limelight (ライムライト)

>> 23 June, 2009

This blog entry is related to my "My Sweet Darlin' by Wildside" post which is actually the english version of the song.

Right now, I'm to feature the original japanese version of My Sweet Darlin' which was sung by Hitomi Yaida but her version sucks so I'm gonna feature Meilin's version.

The song totally rocks in a huge number of ways but even though I find this enjoyable to dance with, I should perfectly take note that the lyrics is sad. Just click the link introduced to this blog entry to see the english lyrics.

My Sweet Darlin' by Meilin with Limelight

Lyrics:
Darlin', Darlin' koko ni kite mieru deshou watashi ga
Darlin', Darlin' ano hi no kissu wasureta furi suru nara...

No good to have lots of beautiful things,
because I'm scared to lose them
but...I want U I want U I want U
even if you love someone else
I don't care if you don't know why the clear sky is blue,
but I want you to know why my cheeks are pink...

Darlin', Darlin' koko ni kite mieru deshou watashi ga
Darlin', Darlin' ano hi no kissu wasureta furi suru nara
Darlin', Darlin' yokogao wa mou akita kocchi muite

Darlin', Darlin' koko ni kite mieru deshou watashi ga
Darlin', Darlin' ano hi no koto wasurete mo ii kara

Hardest Game

I went to bored.com because I was totally bored and got nothing to do (yeah right) so I happen to stumble upon this "Hardest Game" game so like yeah I think I wanna try this.

And boy when they say it's hard, well it is XD I only manage to get to the 15th stage XD Oh and look at the number of deaths I had hahahaha XD

It's a must try. But I ended up with a huge headache so I went to sleep :p

Word of note, the game doesn't have a save option so when you play this again, you'll be back at stage 1 :P Also, don't press the "menu" button!!!

Art Inspiration: Catalina Estrada

>> 17 June, 2009

I'm such a sucker for people who have talents for great works of art! And when I know they're really good at it, they deserve to be mentioned, praised, and be loved :)

Right now, I'm gonna feature Catalina Estrada with her lively, colorful, and fresh illustrations that takes my breath away. You'll surely smile when you see her works :)

Catalina did projects for numerous and famous companies like Microsoft Zune, Coca-Cola, Levi's, Sony Music, and Unicef. She published a book of her works, was featured on countless digital arts books and some of her works were turned into fashionable wardrobes, like how cool is that?! :)

Without further ado, here are some of Catalina Estrada's works :)

More of Catalina at her portfolio :)

Banned Pokemon Episodes

>> 16 June, 2009

Pokemon is LOVE! :) And with all that love, I thought of sharing some nifty facts about it.

Did you know that there were a lot of banned Pokemon episodes? Yes and it's proven. And you even thought these cuddly Pokemon's won't hurt you as much as you thought they were gonna hurt you hehehehe... XD

These are my top 3 chosen banned Pokemon episodes. I won't be including everything. Oh btw, a word of note, I saved these videos in my hard drive *wink * wink :p

#3 The Legend of Dratini

I have watched this on Cartoon Network which is actually a key episode were Ash caught a Tauros, lots of 'em! Well you should know that he did use a Tauros in a tournament. Anyway, the episode does seem quite disturbing. Well the guy who owns the ranch doesn't hesitate to point a gun on Ash's face, he even gave threats that he would shoot him.

The episode involves around a cowboy, wild wild west theme so guns are kinda okay but I guess this is a bad influence for all the kids.

Watch it >> Part 1 Part 2

#2 Beauty and the Beach

I've also watched this on Cartoon Network and it was a cut version, good thing I've seen the entire episode XD Anyway, this is an episode where a beauty contest was held at the beach. Team Rocket entered the contest. James wore a suit that has inflatable breasts.

Watch it! >> Part 1 Part 2

#1 Electric Soldier Porygon

I watched this with amazement, really it does! Not only was porygon a cool Pokemon but the story rocks!

Although, you won't believe this but this episode was banned worldwide because there was a scene where pikachu used his lightning to hit the missiles charging at them. The explosion gave flashes of red and blue lights giving audiences seizures!!! Based from the part 2 of a youtube video, scenes 4:18 - 4:29 & 5:17 - 5:21 just trigerred the seizure, 8:20 - 8:24 really had it going!!!

Based from my experience, I only had a slight headache. So if you wish to watch the entire episode, then do so. Nothing will happen to you but remember to watch at your own risk. I prefer not watching this at night with lights switched-off, don't be too close nor stare at the screen, and most of all don't put this in widescreen :p Oh btw, If you have epileptic seizures, then don't you dare watch this.

Are you sure?
Watch it >> Part 1 Part 2
Are you sure?

Pokemon is still LOVE!!! :)

Filipinos wants a better government!!! & Juana Change :)

>> 13 June, 2009

In conjunction with my 111th Philippine Independence Day blog entry yesterday, I've noticed that there were debated issues concerning our government, the Charter Change (CHA-CHA) and the incoming 2010 elections.

Which is why I wanted to highlight a vlogger who makes videos on certain and crucial issues about our corrupt government. She is no other than, Juana Change. I saw her live telecast speech about the Philippine Independence and could definitely assure that she is patriotic and really wants a change in our government by pin pointing every bitchy things they do.

The last part of her speech was a WOW! because the camera focused on her face and I can tell that while she was speaking, she was forcing herself not to cry. Truly patriotic. May God Bless you Juana Change :)

Here are videos from her youtube channel.

Change is everything we need in our government and we need it badly!

Oh-Wheezers' new commenting system

I've always wanted to install those fancy wordpress like comment forms into my blog because I find them handy and pleasing to the eye unlike my current commenting system that does a pop-up XD

According to Rick's blog, he has recommended three of these commenting systems, namely: Intense Debate, Disqus, and JS-Kit.

Intense Debate is cool because I've already seen a blogger use this. But to my dismay, after I signed-up, they don't have the "Import Comments" feature which allows me to import my old comments from blogger to their database. Maybe they're in some sort of a maintenance or upgrading of servers right now. Oh yeah, I've read in a website about a complaint that the intense database client wants to import from her account to blogger. A reply says that they've removed the "Export to Blogger" feature. So does this mean that there are actually two databases involved? One is theirs and the other is from blogger and like it's not updated?! Gosh! It's giving me a headache!

Moving on. I'm liking the simplicity of Disqus. This was actually my first pick among the three but crap! They don't support blogger!!! Geez why did they even say on their index page that they do support it, go figure! Hopefully, they would because by the time they do, I'll be installing this XD

Lastly is JS-Kit. I immediately uninstalled this when I couldn't find the proper setting for guests commenters. But I really want to change my commenting system so I calmed my mind and focused through the settings. And voila! It's done :) JS-Kit is my current commenting system :) I tested it out, deleted my test comments and see to it that if I removed this plug-in my comments still saved in my blogger account, and it did :)

Well anyway, I'm still open for new possibilities for a commenting system. If you know a good one, then comment on XD

Quiz: What Tarot Card are You?

>> 11 June, 2009

My friends took this online quiz about "What Tarot Card are You?" and I was amazed from their results because it does match their personalities and all. I took a shot at the quiz, after hitting the final button for the result, the tarot card that appeared kinda confused me. I got The Magician Tarot Card.
Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing, you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

I wasn't expecting anything extravagant but the magician tarot card left me blank. Well I did understood what it says but not entirely! Thus, it still confuses me.

Hmmm... come to think of it, I've always wanted to be a magician, having those powers and stuff, cool! :) Even on the anime Yu-Gi-Oh, I am fond of Yugi's the magician card XD

Anyway, what tarot card are you? :)

Of A(H1N1) and Dengue

I had deep thoughts last Sunday when my friend and I were deliberating about the Influenza A(H1N1) Virus because rumors has been spreading that a known hospital here in our city has a patient with that disease.

I contemplated a bit and asked, "Why? is that the only disease in this world that we should be cautious about?" I asked that boldy and aloud even though I myself had this hidden fear from it.

At that time, we were in a public jeepney and I thought our fellow passengers had heard me or I think had heard me say that. Well I wish they did because there is this sudden fear in everybody's mind when they hear about the influenza. It seems like it has affected everybody's everyday life, likewise, this state also enveloped when SARS had been spreading!

Anyway, as filipinos are now aware of the Influenza A(H1N1) Virus and taking precautions seriously, they become oblivious of the fact that there's still a few more diseases lurking amid. And that is, Dengue.

An article that I've read this morning states that the death toll of Dengue here in our country is far more greater than to nothing in Influenza. The Department of Health (DOH) clearly states in the article that we should be wary on some other diseases and be clean within ourselves and to our surroundings.

We are all afraid to get infected. We just have to be aware and take preventive measures seriously. Hence, still do our everyday business, stay healthy, and be alert.

EDIT - June 14, 2009 12:21 AM

This should be an interesting read : Flu vaccine developed as pandemic declared

Kaskade live in Manila 2009

>> 10 June, 2009

Waaahhh another DJ is again in our country and it's DJ Kaskade! He will be performing at the Sky Dome this Friday and I won't be attending :( I can afford to watch the show but the thing is, I'm too far from Manila and even if I did go there, I don't have any place to crash into *sighs*

I scanned this advertisement of Kaskade's live performance...

Anyway, I'm also skeptical going back to Manila these days even if I have the chance to watch Kaskade's performance. Well news has it that there are 77 cases of Influenza A(H1N1) in Manila but without reported deaths.

Ahem! Hope I could watch his performance *sighs*

The Big Bang Theory with Schrödinger's Cat

>> 08 June, 2009

I'm always in awe whenever I watch The Big Bang Theory, you just can't get enough of watching the entire show because there's a lot of cool science facts, information, and those beyond the scope of knowledge where your intellectual ability is tested from understanding a wide range of jargon words to which only geniuses can answer XD The show also has topics related to a mature teen and also the socialization between the nerds and the beauties.

At one episode, I was totally interested in knowing the Schrödinger's Cat which involves Quantum Mechanics and the EPR article (Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen). Yup I did some research even though I can hardly understand any of it XD I've exceeded my limits to understand the paragraphs, and they were far-out! XD

Anyway, here is the episode of The Big Bang Theory with their Schrödinger's Cat.

Wow huh? :) They applied the experiment through a more sociable aspect hehehe... Anyway, the Schrödinger's Cat is a much more complex topic to discuss. I'll have to know more about this topic, back to the drawing board XD

Cleaning myself from within

>> 03 June, 2009

No new blog posts huh? XD

Well I'm currently in the mood to finish errands buried under new errands. My pile seemed like a tower that when you're atop and tried to peek below, you'll see a bottomless pit of doom. Nevertheless, balancing myself atop of that tower is a much more bigger job to handle.

For all this time, I've been neglecting a lot of things that should have been finished days, weeks, months, or years ago! I want to make a change. So what's the root for the change? Well since I've finished my Dreamin' to Rock wallpaper, that I've neglected for the past few months, I suddenly want to continue the trend by finishng some other tasks that I've left behind.

I know it will be tough, words will not matter in this blog entry unless I do something :)

How about you? What tasks have you been neglecting in your life?
