Art: Dreamin' to rock!

>> 26 May, 2009

YAYNESS!!! I've finally finished another wallpaper :) This time, it's a vector from Yusuke Nakamura's illustrations which I must say are uber amazing!

Good thing I've spotted these two scans that when rotated, resized, and put together, makes a really nice wallpaper :) Finding a Nakamura illustration was tough because there was limited resources.

This is the outcome of the wallpaper. Anyway, this wall should have been finished months ago but I've been procrastinating and been busy with some other stuff XD

Oh btw, I didn't include any text, brushes, patterns, textures or whatsoever to this wall because I didn't want to ruin Nakamura's work. It's beautiful as it is :)

I'm glad to have finished this :)

Honey by Chihiro

Whenever I feel stressed or just wanna be relaxed and get into the mood on focusing something, I often listen to a specific song, it's called Honey by Chihiro. It's actually the ending theme from the anime, Card Captor Sakura.

I can also say that when you're feeling a bit emo, this song is like the perfect one to listen to :)

And now that I've read the english translation, I deeply fell in-love with this. Simple lyrics that makes you fuzzy and warm inside :)

Honey by Chihiro

Japanese Lyrics:
madobe ni hitori hoodzuetsuite
yamanai ame wo jitto mite'ru
kyou wa zutto hitori
ima goro nani wo shite'ru ka na
hiroiatsumeru kioku wa takaramono
KYUN to shichau

Ah fushigi da ne
omoidasu dake de
yasashiku nareru

atatakai MIRUKU ni
amaku hirogaru HACHIMITSU mitai da ne
kokoro tokasu yo
sono hohoemi wa sou totteoki no Honey

miageru sora ORION no RUBI-
watashi dake no PURANETARIUMU ni ne
youkoso kon'ya mo
issho ni iru to mitsumerarenai
ima wa hyakuman-bai no ZU-MU APPU de
sora ni egakou

Ah suteki da ne
donna toki datte
soba ni iru mitai

kanashii namida ni
hiza wo kakaete nemurenai yoru demo
yuuki wo kureru yo
sono hohoemi wa sou totteoki no Honey

tsubasa wo hirogete
maiorite kuru hoshizora no you da ne
tsuyoku nareru yo
sono hohoemi wa sou watashi dake no Honey

English Translation:
Alone, I lean on the windowsill, my cheek resting on my palm
staring at the endless rain
I've been alone all day
I wonder what you're doing right now...
The memories I collect are precious treasures
Making my heart wrench

Ah Isn't it strange?
Just remembering
makes me affectionate.

Just like honey
spreading out sweetly in warm milk
My heart dissolves
Your smile is the finest honey.

Looking up in the sky at Orion's Ruby
In my very own planetarium
Welcome back again tonight
When we're together, I can't gaze at the stars
Now let's zoom up 100 thousand times
and draw in the sky

Ah Isn't it wonderful?
It's like
you're always by my side

On nights when I can only curl up
and cry sad tears
you give me courage.
Your smile is the finest honey.

I spread my wings wide
and alight from Heaven, like the star-filled sky
I can be strong!
Your smile is my very own honey.

Jewellery Storm by L.E.D.-G

>> 17 May, 2009

I'm currently addicted to L.E.D.-G (Toshiyuki Kakuta) song called Jewellery Storm. The beat was awesome! It's Happy Hardcore with a natural gaming experience. It's easy to dance with because it's likeable! Plus, mixing it together with a female Japanese singer totally completes aura of the song :)

Too bad I can't find the lyrics to this song *sighs* :( Any information about the lyrics would be a big help because I want to memorize and know what this song is all about.

Fire by 2NE1

An all female Korean pop group is on the rise called 2ne1 which is said to be the female version of the Korean pop group Big Bang. The collaborative song of both groups called "Lollipop" has topped #1 on charts.

2ne1's first single is called "Fire" which has two versions, the street and space version both made a hit when it was released last May 6.

Currently, Fire totally caught my attention to it's awesome beat and the group's clothes XD Check it out!

Fire (Street Version) by 2ne1

Fire (Space Version) by 2ne1

A bit of note and rant. One member of 2ne1 named Sandara Park was once famous here in the Philippines. Good thing she decided to go back to Korea and ending up to be much more famous. With our country's cheap media, she wouldn't want to end-up like our celebrity losers. Out! :P

Artists without rules

>> 16 May, 2009

This is still related to my Pahiyas Festival blog entry but I want it to be separated.

While Coney, Ian, and I were walking around town to see the decorations of the houses, we happened to see walls with graffiti art. Honestly, I am a fan to this kind of art so fascinated as I am, I didn't hesitate to grab the opportunity to take shot of me with it :)

After a few more walks, passing to more houses, I noticed this awesome graffiti art that says "Pahiyas." I was so excited that I immediately wanted a picture of me with it :) It was quite funny that people started staring at me because it was unnoticeable at nighttime and it was a vacant lot between the houses filled with decorations.

While I was being pictured, I noticed a group of people wearing black shirts from a distance who were looking and smiling at me. I was nonchalant but I did felt their presence. I even got embarassed when they started to take a picture of me hehehehe.. I then wondered if they were the ones who made the graffiti art :)

After were done photographing ourselves, I looked back at the graffiti art and saw other people also taking a picture of it. Good thing we started the trend XD

Just around that corner, we happen to see people doing their graffiti art in action. I took a picture of them and like what happened before, there was a group of people in black looking and smiling at me XD I think they're part of the large group that stared at me before XD

Anyway, if anyone from that group happened to read this blog entry, I want to say that you did an awesome job! Keep it up! :)

Later, we headed back to the town square to get some henna tattoos. I looked through all the available designs and I happen to like a chinese (???) symbol that means, "Mirror." It's uber cool!!!

Hehehehe... this is us with the henna tattoos LOL XD

Pahiyas Festival 2009

YAY! It's Pahiyas Festival once again at Lucban, Quezon Province, Philippines, just two cities away from ours :) I so love visiting the place, admire all the colorful decorations 100% made from indigenous materials from the farmer's bountiful harvest.

Anyway, I went to the festival with my friend Ian and his sister, Coney. They totally had fun because it was their first time in the Festival. I even acted like a tour guide to them ^_^;

This is a long and nifty kiping chandelier made into a Philippine Flag :) Ian and Coney told me to do "One Sun and Three Stars" hand symbol because Francis M. did that. I'm clueless to the hand symbol :p

The parade just started, these floats circled the town.

Included in the parade is a row of couples with clothes 100% made from indigenous material. Of all the couples, in my opinion, this the best :)

This is Coney and Ian, behind them are houses filled with decorations :)

In some house decorations, you can go into their home and have a picture of yourself with the decorations :)

If you the decorations are awesome at daylight, wait 'till it's night :) Oh about the picture, I was blocking the letter "P," my bad :p

Oh btw, all the houses with the decorations are part in a contest. This picture I have with Coney won first. We didn't get to picture the entire house because it was jam-packed with people!

Alone the way, I saw my bestfriend :)

I had fun with this shot. Good thing I told Ian to photograph me with this XD

The experience was awesome, see you again next year :)

Saving the Coral Triangle

>> 13 May, 2009

I'm browsing into Yahoo when I've noticed a similar news that I've read last year, and that is, the Coral Triangle. I've blogged this before (Saving the Coral Triangle: Save Mother Earth!) because I remembered giving full support to the this act.

But the thing is, why are they repeating the news? Isn't there any plan to start the movement on saving the corals?

Wish it would start ASAP! It has been months now people!!! XD

I saw this in our Office Bulletin and thought I would share this.

Mental Diet
This is an interesting, simple.
but challenging exercise.
Try a seven-day diet. The
trick is to think positive
thoughts everyday and the
moment you entertain a
negative thought, you
have to go back to day 1.
It's a positive challenge!

Are you up to it? :)

Movie Review: Enchanted (2007)

>> 02 May, 2009

OOoohhhh... This movie is so full of fairy tale fantasies, high-definition graphics and a whole lot of enchanting moments that you would expect from a Disney movie.

Enchanted is G-rated which is fun and suitable for the kids but if you scrutinize the movie and heeded the conflicts that is happening, you can identify a more mature topic hidden behind the songs and magical dusts.

And that is, the Reality of love.

Let's discuss Giselle, the princess who got warped from our world. She is care-free, polite, sensitive, is like a little girl with dreams, believes in true love, and a happily ever after. This is a common attitude from all the princesses of the Disney movies. What's surprising from Giselle was that she doesn't know how to think, she let her fantasy run wild, much to a believer and doesn't mind anything else. It's an optimism that has gone out of hand.

Meanwhile, Robert is the everyday guy in our world. He has a high-paying salary, is always serious, not sweet, has doubt, and always practical. You can say his pessimism has gone out of hand. This attitude is somehow reflected from their divorce. You should take note the birthday gift he gave to his daughter, Morgan. Like oh come on?! she's just six! In the movie, Robert has a fiance but he doesn't know how to make it work. I must quote him, "Forget about happily ever after, it doesn't exist."

Throughout the movie, you should notice that Giselle wears something colourful and flowery while Robert wears black. The only time he doesn't wear black was at the ending.

In real-life, both of these characters are present. We can somehow relate in both parts but to whichever side were on, we have to admit that were wrong. The movie thus teaches us that the balancing of each side is the key to understand each other and to achieve true love. I must quote the black lady from the movie, "Everybody has problems. Everybody has bad times. Do we sacrifice all the good times because of them?"

Now let's discuss the songs. There's the True Love's Kiss, Happy Working Song (The animation in this song is indeed awesome!!), and my all time favourite, That's How You Know. I truly love the song so I'm gonna share it :)

If you haven't watched the movie yet, then I recommend you do. It's fun, entertaining, and is an eye-opener :)

The Diabolo and The Yoyo

>> 01 May, 2009

Francis and I had an interesting discussion about the Cirque du Soleil. I didn't know he was into them 'till I read his status message at YIM. Well anyway a bit of background to where I heard Cirque du Soleil was through a link before, I was amazed by their costumes and stage. It was truly world class! I hope to get to see them live! :) Oh btw, Leslie adores them too :)

While we were chatting, I happened to check youtube.com for some videos of Cirque du Soleil. Stupid of me for not doing this before :p

And booya! a whole list came through and with that list, I happen to adore these three little girls with their performance at La Nouba for their diabolo perfomance. WAAAHHHH they're so cute!! So is their diabolo XD And I must add that the song is uberly fun!!!!!

I remembered Rosetta from an anime called Kaleido Star, anyway here is the video from the three little girls.

I was amazed by their performance that I kept on watching this video over and over again! And it was quite addictive! :)

I even surfed up on the net about diabolo's and found a huge number of information about them! I was into the moment of wanting to learn this :) Come to think of it, I didn't notice the fact that the diabolo is similar to the yoyo to which I am also fond of. Back before, I used to find information about yoyos and even bought one but I failed on doing some tricks. I even broke the yoyo in two! Oh silly me XD

Here is a nifty video of the 2007 National YoYo Competition at the San Francisco Exploratorium :)

HHHmmmm... I wonder if all of this has something to do with who I am. Oh well, I can't wait to learn the diabolo and yoyo :)
