OOoohhhh... This movie is so full of fairy tale fantasies, high-definition graphics and a whole lot of enchanting moments that you would expect from a Disney movie.
Enchanted is G-rated which is fun and suitable for the kids but if you scrutinize the movie and heeded the conflicts that is happening, you can identify a more mature topic hidden behind the songs and magical dusts.
And that is, the Reality of love.
Let's discuss Giselle, the princess who got warped from our world. She is care-free, polite, sensitive, is like a little girl with dreams, believes in true love, and a happily ever after. This is a common attitude from all the princesses of the Disney movies. What's surprising from Giselle was that she doesn't know how to think, she let her fantasy run wild, much to a believer and doesn't mind anything else. It's an optimism that has gone out of hand.
Meanwhile, Robert is the everyday guy in our world. He has a high-paying salary, is always serious, not sweet, has doubt, and always practical. You can say his pessimism has gone out of hand. This attitude is somehow reflected from their divorce. You should take note the birthday gift he gave to his daughter, Morgan. Like oh come on?! she's just six! In the movie, Robert has a fiance but he doesn't know how to make it work. I must quote him, "Forget about happily ever after, it doesn't exist."
Throughout the movie, you should notice that Giselle wears something colourful and flowery while Robert wears black. The only time he doesn't wear black was at the ending.
In real-life, both of these characters are present. We can somehow relate in both parts but to whichever side were on, we have to admit that were wrong. The movie thus teaches us that the balancing of each side is the key to understand each other and to achieve true love. I must quote the black lady from the movie, "Everybody has problems. Everybody has bad times. Do we sacrifice all the good times because of them?"
Now let's discuss the songs. There's the True Love's Kiss, Happy Working Song (The animation in this song is indeed awesome!!), and my all time favourite, That's How You Know. I truly love the song so I'm gonna share it :)
If you haven't watched the movie yet, then I recommend you do. It's fun, entertaining, and is an eye-opener :)
