Life is cruel to those who are very unfortunate...

Durian fruit

>> 11 February, 2009

Our family will go to Davao this Saturday, not actually in Davao (forgive me for not knowing where in Mindanao :p), it's somewhere in the southern part of the Philippines hehehe... We'll be attending the birthday of our grandmother :) It has been a long time since we've visited our relatives there so were anxious to see everybody :)

Anyway, the first thing that always pops in mind when I think about Davao City is the Durian fruit. A generous amount of people loves to eat it but honestly, I don't. I'll just stick with the durian candy :p

For starters, the Durian fruit has this powerful smell that will 'cause some people to wrinkle their noses or have this what's-that-ever-so-weird-smell kinda look in their faces. Correct me if I've mistaken but it is said that this fruit is not allowed to be brought inside airplanes for it's smell can pass through doors and blend with the air-conditioning.

Second, the Durian fruit's unique taste is too much to handle for our taste buds. When I was young, I have tried eating the raw fruit but I immediately concluded adding it to my hate-list because the flavour was unbearable!

But come to think of it, I think I should try eating it again. It has been years after I tried one. Maybe my taste buds has already evolved into steel that it can withstand the strong flavour of the fruit hehehe... we'll see :) I wouldn't want to miss this opportunity when we go back to Davao City :)

Stranded Dolphins in the Philippines

>> 10 February, 2009

News have said that a huge number of melon-head dolphins are swimming in the shallow waters in Bataan, Philippines. Fishermen, and volunteers are helping to rescue the stranded dolphins. They also clap their hands in the water to drive them away and back to the sea.

The unusual behaviour was said to have caused by a disturbance in the water, leading to damaging the dolphin's ear drums. Thus, making them uncoordinated.

It was reported that 3 of them were found dead off-shore. Finding evidence that their ear drums were indeed damaged.

Filipino experts are brewing reasons to why such a sudden phenomenon has occurred.

I just hope that there is a logical explanation to this matter. I know that our fellow Filipinos are doing their best to save the dolphins. I don't want themto die...

EDIT Feb 12, 2009; 8:00 PM
News have clearly announced that melon-head whales not dolphins are stranded in the Philippines. The whales already left the country but experts are still speculating for possible reasons to this phenomenon.

My aching foot

>> 08 February, 2009

Oh man! My right foot is hurting really bad! I've been noticing that it did hurt within this week but not this much as today! I can still walk but kinda weird, somewhat like a zombie with his right foot severely damaged.

My guess for having this pain is because of the sweating of my feet. I know it's bad because I have my socks on.

Ian told me to buy a Baby Oil that should be applied after taking off my socks and resting it for an hour or so. Hhhmmmm.. I think I should also consider buying a foot powder to lessen the sweating...

I don't want to panic. I just hope this is not a serious matter to give a lot of attention. But I am going to deal with this.

I'm being emo with a love song

>> 06 February, 2009

Pure.

That is the word that I want to describe to the song that I'm about to tell you. This song has caught my ears because of its soothing flow of words and the simplicity of how the singer expresses her feelings to what it's like to love someone. And honestly, *sighs* whenever I hear this song, it makes me cry... I don't know why but it does...

I'm not quite updated to the new songs of today. I've heard this on the radio before which is why hearing this again has aroused my curiosity to know its title.

And with that, I now know that it's called "One Love" by Acel Bisa. It's the OST English version from the Korean soap "Sping Waltz".

Enjoy.

Lyrics:

Higher than the sky above you
Clearer than blue
Brighter than the rays of sunshine
Warmer than what you feel
More than all the wonders you see
It's the most wonderful thing

Brighter than the living colors of flowers you see
Sweeter than the touch of water
Flowing from the mountain spring
More than all the wonders you see
It's the most wonderful thing

One love...
I love you so
Love is the beautiful one
I love you so
Love is the beautiful one
All we need is love
Real love

Marvel at the sight of green fields
Amazingly seen
Watch the colors of the rainbow
It's a miracle you see
More than all the wonders can be
But there's more than that

One Love...
I love you so
Love is the beautiful one
I love you so
Love is the beautiful one
All we need is love
Real love

Greater than what you can feel
More than what you ever dreamed
This is better than your everything

One love...
I love you so
Love is the beautiful one

Is your laptop infected?

>> 05 February, 2009

I'm always not sure if my laptop has a virus lurking its way through my folders. They might be hidden, growing, and waiting to be noticed. You may think that your precious gadget is healthy enough well you better think again because in future time, you might just regret it. Scary as it seems but it's worth dealing with it.

After my blog entries about the Downandup/Conficker malware and James' How to Clean and Secure your PC last month has urged me to add another topic about this matter. With that, I introduce to you the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. This works for Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003. It has a long list of the most malicious viruses and worms.

There isn't any interface but I guess it does work and it's quite handy.

At times like this, we should spend a bit more time and care to our PC/laptop. With our technology improving each day there's no doubt that viruses are too.

Early Valentine's Day preparations

>> 04 February, 2009

As we all know, Valentine's day is in just a few more days. Most guys like me and some girls has have already been making early preparations to celebrate this day.

I've already bought Ferrero Rocher chocolates, a Valentine's card with a hand-written personalized message, and some other stuff that I want to give to my special one. I'll be buying the rose some other day :)

But with all these preparations in mind, I can't help but notice people or better yet couples who doesn't celebrate this day. I know that we've been in-touch with our boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives on dates, hanging out, and doing things together but Valentine's day is worth to celebrate. It makes your partner feel more special to you and it shows that you actually care to what he/she wants you to do in this special day.

We don't want to admit it but we are anxious to receive or give somebody a rose, chocolate or a Valentine's card. Just think, everybody around you is celebrating this event but both of you are left doing nothing. Like come on! Hug and kiss your partner and say, "Happy Valentine's Day". Just by saying these words (truthfully, faithfully, and down-to-earth) is worth something than doing nothing at all!

You don't have to overdo all of this. Just be yourself, plan ahead, and be unique.

So, how are you preparing for this day? :)

The Sunset

>> 03 February, 2009

Good thing I've brought my digital camera with me because while I was walking home, I can't help but notice that the sky was indeed an awesome sight! It was picturesque, serene, and alive. A painting filled with soft touches of oranges, yellow, violet, and white.

I was in-love to how mother nature showed us her beauty and how it has captivated our inner selves to reflect upon life for it is indeed simple.

So beautiful isn't it? :)

The Rose

>> 02 February, 2009

I happened to log-in to my Yahoo Messenger just a while ago and skimmed on my friends list to see who's online. Just the usual, but there was this status message from a friend of mine with a question, "If life is so fair... why do roses have thorns?"

I didn't gave this much thought, like giving emphasis and in-depth analysis to what I have to answer for his question. So without hesitation, I answered him with this...

"Because you'll do what it takes to get a hold of its beauty."

I don't know where that came out, it was an idea that blossomed from nowhere! I was like, "WOW! did that came out from my emo side?"

I won't give a brief explanation to my answer. I'll let you think :)

Editing Videos

>> 01 February, 2009

Our DanceMachinesPH Group has been thinking of ways to promote our group and the forum. With that, I've suggested that we should make a promotional video.

They've agreed and I was in charge to edit it, hopefully it rocks :p So far, we have a few ideas to what we want our visitors to see.

I already have a slight background to editing videos because I once considered vlogging. This was an idea before I made this 4th blog that you are currently viewing.

I've been inspired by a lot of awesome vloggers at youtube but sadly, I procrastinated. I got frustrated in editing my videos and besides, I only have a digital camera not a video cam. In short, it didn't turned out well.

But now that I'm back to editing videos, I am again refreshing my memory in Adobe Premiere Pro. And maybe, just maybe, I'm gonna do some vlogging :)

Anyways, if you have any suggestions in making a video or a software to recommend, then I'm glad to hear them out, thanks! :)

Also, do you know any good software that could record just our voices?
